Monthly Archives: February 2010

I was recently blogged about on: Sunday Noises

Everyone should go support local printmaking at Spudnik Press! This was a fun project to see take shape over the past month. I also added some layers to the prints and wall. I won’t be in town for the opening, but come out if you can!

This January and February, artists who printed at Spudnik worked collaboratively to create one-of-a-kind prints using the projects they were already working on. Layer by layer, printers added their mark to not only four collaborative prints, but our gallery wall as well.

On Friday, February 26th, we are inviting you to stop by the studio, say hi, eat some layer cake, and learn about making artwork in a community studio.

Littlest Print Exchange, originally uploaded by gfoots.

I recently participated in the Littlest Print Exchange a portfolio of prints and photos. Since it complition it has shown at a couple of spaces in IL. If your in the Goveners school area please stop by and check it out.

From the exchange organizer:
I just wanted to update you on the state of the exchange portfolio exhibitions. The showing at Feed in Kankakee, IL seemed pretty successful. Everyone that I spoke to about the exhibit thought it was fascinating. That show came down on February 13th.

I installed the entire portfolio at the Visual Arts Gallery of Governor State University in University Park Illinois earlier this week. It is a smallish school about 30 miles south of Chicago. In the spirit of culture and education, I’m emphasizing the international nature of the exchange and the variety of print processes represented. The exhibit will be open through the end of the month. A handful of photos of the installation can be seen in my Flickr stream
